Brutal Legend is
the game of the year. Ozzy and Jack
Black are in the game and really
it's got charm, controls, variety,
humor, and bassassedness. It's an
awesome game and hands down my
favorite this year.
You're Eddy Riggs
the best roadie in the biz. And when
a stage mishap kills Eddy and a
demon comes to life and transports
him to a different dimension/world
you're set up with a game that will
immerse you in characters, controls,
and an environment.
This is a strategy
game that's got to be said first.
You've got different types of
soldiers in the game and they all do
different things. It's like World of
Warcraft and those types of games in
that sense, but it's better because
Eddy gets to be a little more
involved in the action. He wields
badass upgradeable weapons- one's a
guitar and one's a traditional axe.
He can slay bad dudes with both. The
strategy of the game isn't over
thought, it's pretty simple but
being able to be a part of the
action is key.
As for the
music- something has to be noted
about this game's fusion with music
and video games. You're a roadie, in
the dimension you get transferred to
heavy metal kills the bad dudes and
enlightens the good.
The
soundtrack is nothing bud badass.
Jack Black brings that attitude...
really you can go on and on about it
but what this is about is an
attitude that's similar to Jack
Black's and really it's kind of like
a Tenacious D video game. Quite
simply the fusion of metal into this
game is outstanding.
There are a few
downsides to the game. You can fly,
but you can't jump. Not being able
to jump is kind of a pain in the
early phases of the game.
Navigation/compass/maps that stuff
isn't complicated but it's a pain in
the ass. Sometimes there's too much
checking with a map screen to make
sure you're going the right way or
it's too hard to see where you need
to go outside of that map screen.
It's frustrating at times but it's
really easy to get yourself back
into the game when you've been
distracted by the problems with the
map/compass.
Brutal Legend is
hopefully a video game franchise.
The game itself kicks ass and the
story is exceptional. Really this
would be an awesome movie- I would
pay to see this movie. Basically if
you're a music fan- you're going to
love this game.
