Other Movies in the Bourne Series new to
DVD/Blu-Ray Flipper Disc:

The
Bourne Supremacy

The
Bourne Ultimatum
|
The flipper disc
is a new format that makes sense..
It’s a great way for people to
gradually transition their home
movie collection from DVD to Blu-ray.
The flipper disc has a DVD copy of
the film on one side, and then on
the other side of film, a Blu-ray
copy... Lava Records experimented
with something similar a few years
ago with CD/DVD but DVD audio never
caught on like it was supposed to.
That’s mainly due the illegal
downloading craze that was two years
ago and DVD audio never catching on.
Universal makes it run with the
flipper disc, a run that makes
sense, with the release of the
Bourne series on flipper disc.
The Bourne
Identity
is about Jason Bourne, a black-ops
secret agent for the U.S. that
somehow winds up face up in the
ocean and is saved by a group of
sailors. He doesn’t remember his
name, he doesn’t remember where he
lived, he doesn’t remember anything
about his life… When he finds a
tattoo of a bank account number on
his body he uses that as a starting
point. From there his agency learns
he’s alive and they want him back or
they want him dead. The movie
follows Bourne running and hiding
from the people that are trying to
kill him, he does this all while
trying to figure out who he is and
why he can do the things he can do.
The DVD side
of the film is the DVD side it has a
few extras- but the
Blu-Ray side
of the film is where the extra
content is at. There’s a music video
from Moby, an alternate ending, and
an alternate opening, an extended
scene, some deleted scenes, some
looks at making the movie and
several pieces on the author of the
Bourne series, Robert Ludlum. The
menu system is Universal’s standard
menu system which is really
excent. It has
a great core system and a good pop
up system, several interactive
features, and even a screen saver.
The Bourne
series was my generation’s version
of James Bond. It served as a
suitable fix between Pierce
Brosnan’s
first movie as Bond and Daniel
Craig’s first movie as Bond. Matt
Damon is the perfect actor for the
series. When the first movie came
out you would have never thought
that Damon could pull off an action
movie, but he did and he did it
perfectly. His love interest in the
movie is Marie and she’s played very
well by
Franka
Potente.
Director Doug
Liman‘s
ability to make action flicks is
really on display with this first
movie of the Bourne series,
especially the car scene.
The Bourne
Identity
is a killer action flick, one of the
best ones of the past decade and
with the flipper disc you can now
own it on DVD and
Blu-Ray at the
same time.
