Black Dynamite
is satire comedy at its funniest.
The movie follows Michael Jai White
as Black Dynamite. When his brother
is killed and found in the street
Black Dynamite is angry and out for
revenge. You follow Black Dynamite
as he discovers the truth behind his
brother’s murder and goes after ‘The
Man.’
You have to
give the writers credit for
Black Dynamite.
Not only was it written very well
and stylistically but it was also
captured extremely well on film.
Michael Jai White wrote this with
Byron Minns and Scott Sanders. The
movie was directed by Scott Sanders.
The point of the film is to poke fun
at some of the awesome 70’s action
shows. They weren’t always produced
or directed very well but they were
always entertaining. That’s why you
see a boom mic in
Black Dynamite
or you hear Michael Jai White say:
‘Who didn’t see that coming?.... I
mean I didn’t see that coming?”
Black Dynamite
really is a satirical comedy that
was well made and will get you
laughing from start to finish.
The plot of
Black Dynamite
can’t be taken too seriously and
that shouldn’t change but the story
really has four main villains. Most
of these villains die pretty easily
(especially the first two) and that
hurts the story. Instead of feeling
lost while watching this movie it
would have felt better to watch it
knowing there was one enemy behind
everything and that’s who Black
Dynamite was trying to find.
Instead, after the first 45 minutes
the first villain dies and it’s kind
of a foot note and the plot doesn’t
tell a story anymore. The point is
the jokes were written well, the
satire was written well, the story
was not.
Black Dynamite
is for fans of the Naked Gun Series.
You have to satirical comedies to be
able to like this and you’re getting
a little action on top of that
comedy. Michael Jai White was
awesome as Black Dynamite and
despite plot problems this is a
movie that was made very well.
