  Battlefield: Bad Company 2

The Short: EA keeps making amazing multi-player battlefield games.

The Battlefield franchise has been around for awhile and its focus has usually been about multiplayer. There’s never been a huge story behind what they were doing they’ve just used whatever they’ve had access to and gone to town. With Battlefield Bad Company that was different. They used new characters and a fictitious war and mission to the game’s advantage. There was a story behind the game with original material the focus of it. Some people liked the games new angle and it’s new found humor and others hated it. Battlefield Bad Company Two does what Battlefield does best. Multiplayer. But it also attempts to correct some people’s complaints with the solo campaign on the first game.

In Battlefield Bad Company 2 you’re in the same group. Bad Company . The typical ragtag group of Bad Company is back. In the last game you were self-serving soldiers trying to find gold and get rich. In this game you’re on a mission. Not to get gold but to save Texas and the rest of the world. There’s more of a purpose in the solo campaign. That’s all I’ll say because the story is quite good and I don’t want to give it away.

As for the multiplayer that’s what Battlefield has always been. There are tons of options for game modes and it doesn’t let you cheat due to the destructive environments that Battlefield takes pride in. If somebody is holing up in a building sniping people off and you really have no hope to get the shooter or get at the shooter due to his friendly’s you can take an RPG or a grenade and blow up the window and blow the pick off man out his hiding spot. The multi player is where Bad Company 2 is at and where Battlefield will always have an advantage over other shooters.

Bad Company 2 improves on a lot of areas but the solo campaign can still be better. The story was better this time out but a lot of the sense of humor that made the last game fun was lost. The multiplayer is near perfect even across Xbox LIVE so Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ends up being the perfect shooter to pick up if you plan on playing something for awhile. A great game has gotten better and hopefully they keep moving at their current angle with future additions of the franchise.
