Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine for You
gets a special edition release
featuring a new to DVD bonus episode
and a few Winnie the Pooh Valentine
cards. On the DVD are two stories.
"A Valentine for You and "Un
Valentine’s Day".
"A Valentine for You" tells the
story of a Valentine’s Day where
Christopher Robin makes a girl a
card and gets those nervous
feelings. When the rest of the
hundred acre wood notices him making
the card they all struggle to
realize how relationships work and
how Christopher Robin growing up
affects them. It’s one of the more
mature Winnie the Pooh stories made
and it’s meant for kids over the age
of six opposed to the kids under
that age. It’s a very uncommon story
for Pooh and it’s good that Disney
gave it a special edition DVD.
The other story on the disc is "Un
Valentine’s Day". In the story
Rabbit is the habitual fun hater and
calls a meeting to declare that
nobody should hand out Valentines
for the occasion. Everybody agrees
in the meeting but when Pooh gets a
pot of honey he gives one to Piglet
and the exchange between friends
begins and gets chaotic.
Both stories on the DVD are good
stories with one being pretty
standard content for Winnie the Pooh
and the other one being pretty
unorthodox. Toss in the bonus
episode and Rabbit, Tigger, and Pooh
telling the story of the three
little pigs and you’ve got a good
DVD release.
