The Hangover

Its movies like (500) Days of
Summer that make people love
movies. It’s an ode to the past
while still being a totally unique
and original movie. Although it’s
not a love story as it says in the
trailer, it's a movie about the
modern relationship.
The story is about Tom and Summer.
It’s about how the two met, how they
broke up and how he tries to get her
back. It sounds pretty cut and dry
but it’s not even close. The movie
doesn’t feature the common fights
and arguments that normal romantic
comedies do. Those arguments are all
over misunderstandings. These
arguments are about actual problems
and they are displayed that way on
the screen. Director Marc Webb did
an amazing job executing a great
script from writers Scott Neustadter
and Michael H. Weber. This is a one
of a kind situation where two
parties were the perfect fit for
each other. There are split-scene
alternate reality shots and tons of
other stylistic camerawork working
with dialog that’s modern, edgy, and
based on life.
The special features on the Blu-Ray
include a story of the making of,
some deleted scenes, a couple of
awesome music videos (that's what
Webb is known for), a clip on the
movie at Sundance, Interviews with
Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
on the movie and a few other solid
extras. Fox also gives you a digital
copy so you can watch this movie on
the fly on your laptop, iPod, etc.
You really can’t say enough good
things about this movie. Director
Mark Webb set himself up for tons of
interesting work in the future based
on his work in this movie. Deschanel
is great as she always is and Joseph
Gordon-Levitt channels several
classic actors and does an
outstanding job as the main
character. This is a movie that
everyone should see at least once.
It's that good.
