The
World Cup gets
another video game
and deservedly so.
It’s an event like
no other. Countries
all over the world
come together and
celebrate the game
of soccer with the
massive tournament.
EA has released
2010
FIFA World Cup
following up their
successful FIFA game
released last year
with a fantastic
game that mixes the
international flare
of The World Cup
with the great
soccer experience
that is EA’s FIFA
franchise.
FIFA
’10
is the best and most
realistic soccer
game ever made. At
its core
2010
FIFA World Cup
is
the same game. The
game of soccer is
captured perfectly
in this game with a
realistic mechanic
system and a great
visual
representation. The
camera isn’t close
in on the players,
it’s from a
distance, so instead
of some games where
you can only see a
small part of the
field, in
2010
FIFA World Cup
you see all of the
action going on.
You’re not going to
get close ups of the
players while the
action is going,
between whistles you
will, but you will
get the
broadcast/soccer
experience while the
game is going.
The other important
aspect of FIFA comes
with that
broadcast/soccer
experience. The
audio commentary
during the games is
entirely unique.
They provide a lot
of insight while
you’re playing and
they utilize the
silence and space
very well. That’s
something that
commentators do with
soccer anyway, but
it’s appreciated on
this game. You don’t
have to have every
second of game
filled with someone
talking. That’s an
important aspect to
FIFA and it’s
appreciated. The
commentary isn’t the
only thing to love
about the audio. The
stadium sounds while
you’re in the game
are amazing. That’s
from country to
country and
especially when
you’re in South
Africa. This is the
best audio work that
I’ve heard in a
sports game. The
commentary is
awesome as are the
background sounds.
You’re also treated
to an awesome
experience when a
team wins the World
Cup.
2010
FIFA World Cup
is an excellent
representation of
the World Cup and
the game of soccer.
You’re not only
getting a great
in-game experience,
you’re getting all
of the flare and
international
flavors of the World
Cup. If you’re a
soccer fan and you
liked FIFA ’10 then
you will love this
game as well.
