In support of their latest album,
Hats Off to the
Bull, alternative trio Chevelle ripped up
the stage at the Ogden October, 3. The raucous crowd cheered as the set
began with the pulsing lights illuminating as a back bull was centered
in the back of the stage. They opened the set with "Sleep Apnea" from
Sci-Fi Crimes
followed by the title track of the new
album, “Hats Off to the Bull.”
The Chicago-based rockers don’t talk too much between
songs- but Pete Loeffler, lead singer and guitarist commented a few
songs about the difficulty of putting a set list together for fans.
Really, Chevelle doesn’t do a lot of talking, they move right from one
song to next always garnishing a huge roar from the crowd as they begin
the next piece. The fans were treated to many tracks off the new album
including "Envy", "Piñata", and "Same Old Trip". Of course, the set
would not be complete without a few fan roaring favorites such as "Send
the Pain Below" and "The Red." They closed the night with "Face to the
Floor".
Chevelle always packs a heavy punch live and this
night was no exception. If you get a chance to see the band live on this
run in support of Hats Off to the Bull, do it.
