The
Resolution
Jack's Mannequin
2008 marked the return of Jack's Mannequin
with the release of The Glass Passenger in September. The
album, including the hit single "The Resolution" was written in the

with Leukemia in 2004. McMahon told Alternative Addiction in

Non-Dairy
Creamer
Third Eye Blind
Third Eye Blind fans were finally treated with the first new music
from the band in over 5 years. The band ended their hiatus
with "Non-Dairy Creamer", a controversial politically charged track
that drummer Brad Hargreaves said was purposely polarizing,
something that the band takes "a small degree of satisfaction in"

featured the hit single "Love Remains the Same." Even though

Rise
Above This
Seether
The best song of 2008 according to the readers
of Alternative Addiction comes off of an album that was actually
released in late 2007. Seether's Finding Beauty In
Negative Spaces was an album that Seether lead singer Shaun
Morgan says was not fueled by his break up with his ex-girlfriend,
Evanescence's Amy Lee. The album's hit single "Rise Above
This" was a prime example, with its strong melodies and upbeat
lyrics, the song is more optimistic than bitter. No matter how
fans interpreted the lyrics, there's no denying that its a damn good
song, and your song of the year for '08. |
