Sparkle
Rubyhorse
On perhaps one of the best albums of the year, came one of
the most heard but least known songs of the year. Rubyhorse's
Sparkle was played repeatedly during the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs,
and again during the Olympics. Despite the songs mass
exposure, and the fact that it has nothing to do with sports,
"Sparkle" only finishes at number 45 on our countdown |

The Verve Pipe
On by far the bands strongest release to date, The Verve
Pipe's Underneath spawned two hit singles last year, and a huge hit
this year with their song "I Want All Of You". Never
officially released as a single by the band, this song spent two
weeks at number one on the AA Top, and lands at #40 overall. |

Splender
After a year of struggles and label conflicts, Splender
finally inked a new deal with J Records in 2003, and released "To
Whom it May Concern." Although the album might not be
comparable to the bands debut, its shows some strong creativity and
growth for this talented band. |

Again
Jeremiah Freed
Something's just don't make sense, like why Jeremiah Freed is
not one of the biggest bands of 2002. With an incredible
album, and great lead off single in Again, the band never really got
their due attention. This album is one of many great
overlooked albums of 2002. |

Dishwalla
No one could have predicted that Dishwalla would return with
such a spectacular album in 2003, and one of the two huge songs off
of it was "Angels Or Devils" the honestly and heartfelt lyrics of
this song are just a taste of what this album brings. Look for
alot more from Dishwalla in 2003! |

The
Question
Familiar 48
Familiar 48 put out one of the most well written albums of
2002 with their debut "Wonderful Nothing." Their first single
"The Question" grabbed the attention of thousands of new fans as the
band had a huge year in 2002. Unfortunately poor promotion
forced this band into obscurity in 2002. |

Machine
Goo Goo Dolls
It was a big return in 2002 for the Goo Goo Dolls, and one of
three of their big hits was the song "Big Machine" which tackled the
tough issue of the use of the drug ecstasy, and the even bigger
issue of a relationship gone wrong, a different side for the Goo Goo
Dolls, but one that we would love to hear more of! |

Debut albums don't get much better than this, and Song of the
Year, this one is a damn good choice. Normal Life debut on the
AA Top 20 in late September and exploded to number one is just 6
short weeks. The bands late year release has fans all over
just now discovering just how good these guys are! |
