Prepare the Preperations

Ludo’s follow up album to “You’re Awful, I Love You” is more similar to what the band did before they got their record deal than their last album. There are no straight-forward pop songs, there are no serious songs, there’s just Ludo and their… Ludoness. There’s really no other way to describe it. They’re funny, they’re goofy, they’re creepy, and they’re angry at the same time. They’re like your crazy friend where you can laugh at everything they say, even when they’re serious because of how it’s coming across. The point with Ludo is they’re an awesome band that you can’t take too seriously at any given point. They’ve got a knack for the dramatic… but not the common dramatic. They’re playing Queen type music while singing about Robots and Manta Rays. This record is a better example of Ludo more than “You’re Awful, I Love You” and that’s the most important thing to know about this album. If you liked the last album for songs like “Please”, then you don’t actually like Ludo. If you liked the sick, twisted, and/or dramatic songs on the last record, then you like Ludo and you’ll love this album.
