Fountains of Wayne

Traffic and Weather
Artwork

“Traffic and Weather” is another fun album from the funnest (is that a word?) band of the past decade. The pop culture references, the tongue in cheek lyrics, the general fun atmosphere that only Fountains of Wayne can set, it’s all here. You can’t help but smile while you’re listening to a Fountains of Wayne album, it’s kind of their trademark.
“Traffic and Weather” doesn’t really have a bad track on it. “Someone to Love” is a bouncy discoesque pop track that’s perfect for radio. “’92 Subaru” is full of references about moon roofs and TVs making it enjoyable. And the rest of the album is just as good. With the risk of typing the word fun about a billion more times in this review I’m going to stop there. But the summary is simple.

This is another excellent Fountains of Wayne album that’s just as good as the previous three. Pick this up, you won’t be disappointed. It’s refreshing, it’s poppy, it pays homage to everything that was good about pop music from back in the day, and generally it’s just fun… damnit.
