NEW LANGUAGE

EP1_2000
Artwork

Since making their debut in 2016, NEW LANGUAGE has had some buzz surrounding them and they have put out some good music too. 2020 started out big for the Los Angeles trio. They put out their best song to date with their single “No Time.” The single led the way for a short EP simply titled EP1_2020.

The new EP from NEW LANGUAGE puts a nice foot forward for their release plans in 2020, whatever they may be. These three songs are all really good and everything starts with “No Time.” It’s an airy, atmospheric rock track that sounds both distinctive and new, but also sounds like a throwback to rock songs like made by Soundgarden and Alice in Chains in the 90’s. “PARANOID” features a spacey-vibe with heavy bass and lots of room to breathe in the verse until it leads into a powerful vocal in the chorus from Tyler Demorest. It’s a nice song that’s followed well by “Can’t Explain” – a song that’s probably the least catchy of the three but the most complex. It’s an epic listen when you’re in the mood for it.

All three of these songs are solid from NEW LANGUAGE, the trio is much better suited for an album than an EP and this EP feels like an unfinished product because of that. That’s really the only complaint. NEW LANGUAGE is a badass alt rock band. These three songs are some of their best work.
