Layto

The Low Boy EP
Artwork

Layto's The Low Boy EP features his buzzing single, "Little Poor Me" and three other songs. The EP is the declared origin story of Layto, how he went from work various odd jobs to where he’s at now. All four songs are fun listens and Layto's talent as a lyricist and a producer is evident throughout the whole EP.

The surprising part of the EP is that the only song like "Little Poor Me"... is "Little Poor Me." The other three songs on the EP are upbeat and uplifting. They're a bit like late-90's era Snow in terms of production. Layto's autobiographical approach to his songs and another element to them too.

Layto's The Low Boy EP is a great introduction to an artist that should be able to do some great things over the next couple of years. It'll be interesting to see which path he chooses - whether he chooses to make his music a little more pop or whether he keeps doing some different things like he did on "Little Poor Me." Time will tell, but for now this is a fun listen that's easy to get into.
