Taking their moniker from the notorious Japanese world war two biochemical weapons test site, Canadian modern rock five piece offer an e.p that promises much for the future.
Taking their lead from fellow Canadians Forty Foot Echo, with hints of the Canuck old school such as Loverboy, Unit731 prosper specifically on the superb riff heavy ‘4 Walls’ and ‘Follow’. Although ‘Still’ is a worthy ballad and ‘In a World’ with its chant along structure gets the foot tapping, nothing quite matches the excellent opening duo. If Unit731 can harness their obvious talent and steer their song writing into this more appealing direction, their debut album should more than fulfil their potential. One to watch.
