How Will You Know If You Never Try

Nashville act COIN just dropped their second LP and it’s good - like really good. The album starts out with a thumper in “Don’t Cry 2020” and it treads on with indie-pop goodness through the entire record. The new album, “How Will You Know If You Never Try” is poppy, weird, and fun.

The best thing about COIN’s sophomore album is just how unique and cool these songs are. “Talk Too Much” is all about waiting for a first kiss and its pure pop bliss in COIN’s own distinctive way. “I Don’t Wanna Dance” is the awkward guy’s theme song and its song structure matches the lyrical content in the perfect way. “Feeling” sounds a lot like a Walk The Moon song with COIN’s own flare in verse. “Malibu 1992” closes the album in a perfect way. It’s not meant to be an overpowering pop song, it’s just a really good 5-minute closing track.

COIN’s sophomore gets a check on all of the vital album to-do list. It’s produced well, written well, it’s distinctive, it’s timely, and it’s something that you’ll want to keep coming back to. You can expect to keep listening to this one throughout the rest of the year once you give it a shot the first time. It’s really good.
