Thousand Foot Krutch

Welcome to the Masquerade

Thousand Foot Krutch has evolved and shaped an enormous amount into what it is today. They used to sound like the Christian Limp Bizkit, now there’s not even a hint of what used to be. Their last album was their best album, “The Flame in All of Us” was a killer record and it didn’t get the attention it deserved. Now their latest record “Welcome to the Masquerade” is suffering from the same thing. The album itself is another solid 13 songs from TFK. The artwork is awful, but the songs and what’s on the disc are great. When Trevor told us that this record was going to be the hardest TFK record he wasn’t lying. “Fire it Up” is the best rock single that the band has released and this album is full of songs like that of the same vein. There is one thing that bothers me about this record; it’s not an alternative-rock album. It’s a rock album. “The Flame In Us” was an amazing alternative-rock record, while this is just a good rock record. It might seem a little finicky but the song writing just doesn’t seem as personal on this record as it did on the last record and you would have liked to see the band keep moving in the direction that they presented with their previous record. This is still another good album from TFK. It might not have the emotion that the last record did, but the songs have more bite so it's a good enough compromise.
