Former Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump claims that he is a "27-year-old has-been." In a candid blog post on his personal website Stump lamented the turn his music career has taken after Fall Out Boy's popularity faded and his first solo album, Soul Punk, bombed.

"I'm a 27-year-old has-been. I'm a touring artist and I feel I've become incapable of touring anymore with any act . . . whether I were to go out as a solo artist or do some Fall Out Boy 'reunion' or start a new band."

His association with Fall Out Boy is a major source of his problems. Stump explains:

"Whatever notoriety Fall Out Boy used to have prevents me from having the ability to start over from the bottom again."

Despite the problems Stump talks about, he says that he is still working.

"I've managed to cobble together some work . . . I've been moonlighting as a professional songwriter/producer for hire, and I've even been doing a bit of acting here and there."
