We’re proud to debut the new song from Nashville electro-pop band Five Knives. The song is called “Criminal” and it will be on the new album, "Savages" that the band is releasing on June 2nd via Red Bull Records. Check it out:
Five Knives are songwriters who love the high energy of electronic music. What sets them apart is that they craft their songs as a full band, infusing all of their influences into one sound. That sound helps them deliver a live show that bridges the gap between a rock band and a DJ set.
You can hear the energy of Five Knives pouring out of the speakers on “Criminal”. Talking about the track, Five Knives’ Nathan Barlowe said.
"We had been in LA for several days writing in a studio. As we were waiting on our co-writer that day, Zach and I stumbled onto this feel where I was playing more of a rock bass line over a dance beat. We had a girl named Erin Beck come in to start some lyrics with us for it. We played her the track and literally by the time the 3 min track was done, she had scribbled down almost all of the lyrics. We were floored! It was great so we just tweaked it a bit and "Criminal" was born. Fastest written song on the album.”
Five Knives have quickly gone from playing underground basement parties in Nashville to recording with producer Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, The Killers) and touring with Icona Pop, Twenty One Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins and Warped Tour. The band was nominated for a 2014 Grammy award for a remix of their song “The Rising”.
