After recently teasing the release of their forthcoming debut album How Do You Feel Now?, Joywave are back today to share the Keith Schofield-directed video for their current single "Somebody New." The video finds the band skateboarding around Los Angeles while performing their new song. Speaking about the creative for the video, the band said, "We wanted to look like we were great at some physical activity, so CGI was the only option. For the first time, we had the means to create an alternate universe in which we were actually good at something." While they've demonstrated that they're more than capable of crafting an immediately crafty song, Keith Schofield (who has helmed videos for Bastille, Duck Sauce, Charlotte Gainsbourg & Beck previously) helped them realize their dreams of physical excellence.
The video comes in advance of their upcoming performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, which will air on March 2nd, and their appearance on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live that will air tomorrow, February 25th.
Joywave has also announced the details of their debut album, which is set for April 21st via Cultco Music/Hollywood Records. Additionally, the band will be joining Bleachers on a US tour this spring, which launches next week and runs through mid April. This all comes on the heels of a breakout 2014 that saw the band release their debut EP, festival appearances across North America and their first late night TV performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
