Vampire Weekend confirmed that they have completed their fourth album, the first since Modern Vampires of the City, in 2013.
Ezra Koenig announced the news during the band's performance at Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival on August 4.
"I wanted to tell you that the album is done now," he said. "I mean, we're mastering it but it's done. More on that to come - in the meantime, just enjoy the rest of your summer," Koenig said. The album has not been titled as yet.
The band played a cover version of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town" with Danielle Haim, at their show at Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, and teased a new song "Flower Moon" in Ojai, California.
In its financial statement, Sony, with whom Vampire Weekend has signed a deal, hinted at a 'noteworthy project' coming up from the band in the third quarter.
