The Strokes have made an announcement sure to make all of their fans happy - they will make their return to the stage at the Governors Ball in New York in June.
In addition to the Strokes, frontman Julian Casablancas will also perform as a solo artist. The Strokes' last live show came in November 2011 when they performed live at the Planeta Terror festival in Brazil. The group has not played in the US since September of that year.
The Governors Ball will also include performances from Jack White, Vampire Weekend, Damon Albarn, Disclosure, Skrillex, Phoenix, Tyler the Creator, La Roux, Earl Sweatshirt, Kurt Vile, Deafheaven, Jenny Lewis, Interpol, TV On The Radio, the Kills, Grimes, James Blake, Broken Bells, Neko Case, Spoon, Janelle Monáe, Washed Out, and Chance the Rapper among others.
The three-day event takes place on Randall's Island between June 6 and 8.
