According to a post on the band's website, Straylight Run have announced that the band is going on indefinite hiatus, citing "business struggles" as the reason for the hiatus.
"We call it a hiatus and not a break up because the band still enjoys working together and is open to the idea of doing so in the future," said the post from the band. "If it was up to us we would continue making music throughout this year and the years to come, but the unfortunate reality is that being in a band is a business and when business isn't good you can only keep going for so long."
Straylight Run was formed in the early 2000's, their 2004 self titled release sold over 11,000 copies its first week on sale and helped the band score a major label deal with Universal Records three years later, thanks in large part to the success of their single "Existentialism on Prom Night." The band parted ways with Universal in 2007, and released an independent EP in 2008.
The band's post mentioned that the band still plans to release a live CD in the future, but would not commit to a release date.
