After releasing two albums on Island Records, American Hi-Fi was dropped from the label last year. The band went back to the studio and tapped Butch Walker to produce their third album, which will now be released on Maverick Records. American Hi-Fi frontman Stacy Jones says the album, entitled "Hearts On Parade", was written reflecting the transitions shaped largely by his relocation to Los Angeles last year after finding himself without a record deal.
“We were just about to hit the road with Matchbox Twenty to promote our sophomore album, when Island records decided the future of music was with Emo bands,” reflects Jones. “We thought we had it made -- a record we were proud of, a great tour and then the rug gets pulled out from under us.”
American Hi-Fi has recovered nicely however, they just completed a tour with Avril Lavigne and are getting set to head out on their second tour opening for Butch Walker this year. Their Maverick Records debut will hit stores on March 1, 2005.
