The Indie Song of the Day comes from alternative-rock act The Treble. They're from Winnipeg and they just released a new single called "Saturday Night."
The band has been around for years and they've had some success in Canada and various independent music scenes, but after all that time in music, the guys in The Treble have switched focus by deciding to stay on course with what they're doing.
"Let’s just allow this band to sound the way it’s meant to sound," wrote the band in a recent release. "We stopped trying to water things down and chase what other people told us to and instead the best version of ourselves we ever could have imagined began to shine through."
Their most recent single is the result of that new focus. The band also talked about the song in the release.
Not too long ago, a bar we used to frequent back home in Winnipeg got torn down and replaced by some condos. It got us thinking of all the crazy times and experiences that people must have had there. Breakups, fights, new connections. It made us think of young love – the kind that burns too bright and could never last. That’s what “Saturday Night” is about.
