Back to the Canadian indie music well for today's Indie Song of the Day. The song of the day comes from newcomers KROWNS, and their very first single, "High While The World Ends."
KROWNS is led by vocalist Kyle McKearney and the group is a little bit alternative and a little bit hip-hop - you can think of some of the rhythmic approach like Imagine Dragons with vocals and lyrics akin to groups like Twenty One Pilots and The Blancos.
The song debuted yesterday on Variance Magazine and McKearney told the magazine about the song:
"The song is about rising above what we can’t control, finding a way to keep our heads up when it seems impossible," says McKearney about the new track. "It is the honesty and conviction in these stories that touch home by relating to our own life experiences. They allow people from all ends to empower themselves, live authentically, and be triumphant in their own way."
The song was produced by Stephen Kozmeniuk. Be on the lookout for more from KROWNS very soon.
